TIPS

Hydrate before, during, and after exercise. When running, drink 10 to 15 oz. of water 15 minutes prior to running, and 2 to 4 oz every 15 minutes during your run.

Life after an injury, surgery, or illness can be difficult, even while doing the simplest tasks.  Our physical therapy treatment programs are custom-designed to restore maximum function, allowing patients to safely return to life’s daily activities.  Our therapists treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, and help restore range of movement and function, decrease pain, reduce inflammation or swelling, and increase muscle strength and endurance.

Physical Therapy treatment involves a combination of carefully chosen exercises, targeted stretching, range of motion activities, and strengthening exercises. You will receive education on the nature of your ailment or your post operative condition. Your therapist will employ manual therapy techniques, use state of the art equipment, and may also incorporate modalities into your treatment (i.e. heat, cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound). With direction from your physician, our professionally trained and experienced therapists design an individualized course of treatment for each patient. The treatment protocol will be based on a physical evaluation, results from diagnostic tests you may have received, and incorporate your own individual goals.  The frequency and duration of your treatment will be defined based on your evaluation. While the therapist focuses on treating you and monitoring your progress during visits, patients are encouraged to support their treatment plan with a  home program consisting of a series of customized exercises which the therapist will outline. Participation at home will increase the recovery rate and success of the therapy.
