APPOINTMENTS: OUT-OF-NETWORK BILLING

At our practice, we focus on providing the highest level of personalized care and flexibility for our patients. While we are an out-of-network provider with most insurance companies, many of our patients are still able to receive partial reimbursement for their physical therapy sessions. Here’s how the process works:

1. Payment at Time of Service

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, credit cards, HSA, and FSA as forms of payment.

2. Billing

You will receive an itemized bill at the end of your session or treatment cycle. The bill contains all the information needed for you to submit to your insurance company. You will receive payment directly from your insurance company.

3. You Submit to Your Insurance

You simply send the itemized bill to your insurance company (usually through your member portal or by mail). They’ll review it and apply the charges toward your out-of-network deductible or issue reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network benefits.

4. You Receive Reimbursement

If your plan covers out-of-network services, your insurance company will send reimbursement directly to you based on its allowed amount for physical therapy services.
(Reimbursement amounts vary by plan—contact your insurance provider for details.)

Why We Offer Out-of-Network Care

Being out of network allows us to:

  • Provide one-on-one, individualized sessions without rushing through appointments

  • Focus on your goals and progress—not insurance restrictions

  • Deliver higher-quality, evidence-based treatment designed specifically for you

Helpful Tips

  • Before your first visit, contact your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network physical therapy benefits.

  • Request details about your deductible and reimbursement percentage for CPT codes

  • Use your HSA or FSA card if available—physical therapy is typically an eligible expense.

  •

We’re happy to help you navigate the process and make sure you have everything you need for reimbursement. If you have questions about superbills, payments, or insurance, please contact our front desk — we’re here to help.

TIPS

Exercise like horseback riding, running, and sit-ups are common causes of the side stitch. You shouldn't drink large amounts of water or eat 2-4 hours before exercise. Sip small amounts (1-2 swallows) before and during exercise and wait to fully re-hydrate until after the workout.
